Narrabeen Beach is one of the most beautiful Beaches on Sydney's northern beaches.  The beach has a nice relaxed vibe and is great to unwind and enjoy the sun, sand and water.


Narrabeen is very popular with locals, both young and old. It provides some of the best surfing in Sydney as well as a picturesque lake. 


The Narrabeen Lake (or Narrabeen Lagoon)  is one of the most important and valuable recreational areas in Sydney. It is ideal for cycling around, walking, jogging, stand up paddleboarding, windsurfing or fishing.


A number of Sydney's most well-known beaches are a short drive from Narrabeen Beach including Dee Why, Curl Curl and Warriewood. There is also access to the bush trails along the beautiful Pittwater.

How far is Narrabeen Beach from the Sydney CBD?

Narrabeen Beach is roughly 35km north of the Sydney CBD.  It takes over an hour to drive there, depending on the traffic.

Is there public transport to Narrabeen Beach?

Yes. The L90 bus runs all the way from the CBD all along the Northern Beaches. The bus travels from Warringah Mall Shopping Centre, all along Pittwater Rd to Mona Vale. The L90 is the most direct route if you're travelling on public transport.

The nearby area is filled with mountain biking, cross country and downhill mountain bike trails.

Yes. Narrabeen is one of Sydney's most popular beaches to learn to surf.



The beach can get extremely busy in peak season, so early morning or late evening sessions are recommended for beginners. It can be a very forgiving beach for beginners and a great place to learn how to surf.

The locals mainly hang out at Narrabeen Beach in the summertime, when it is nice and busy with thousands of people enjoying the beautiful natural beauty that this beach has to offer.  It's also a great place if you like to surf or go for a swim.

No. you will have to travel south the play at Long Reef Golf Course. This seaside golf course is situated on a peninsula with breathtaking beachside views.

Is there a hospital in Narabeen Beach?

There is a very large, modern public hospital in nearby Mona Vale. There are two other hospitals in the area:


Northern Beaches Hospital (located at Frenchs Forest)

Royal North Shore Hospital (in St. Leonards on the lower north shore)
